GLAZE, COLOR, & CLAY NRG

APT-II GLAZE, COLOR & CLAY NRG IS AN ACRYLIC EMULSION USED IN LOW AND HIGH FIRE GLAZES, WATER BASE COLORS, CLAY and SLIP - DETAILED INSTRUCTIONS ON THE CERAMIC ENHANCER AND PORCELAIN/STONEWARE PAGES.

   GLAZE:

Glazes, especially lead-free, are difficult to achieve a smooth finish with an even color when applied on bisque.  NRG added to all glazes causes exceptional bonding of glazes and colors to clay surfaces.  Color remains on surface and is not absorbed into the clay葉herefore, reduces shading and streaking.  Lead-free glazes with NRG added will level without finger sanding and creates a smooth finish when fired.

  GLAZE ON GLAZE:

By adding NRG, the glaze on glaze technique is fun when using two different colors.  Carving through the second color before fired will accent your first color.

  RE-GLAZING:

When a finished glazed piece turns out less than you expected, I.e., over-fired, starved, pin holes or streaking, add NRG into new glaze.

  UNDERGLAZE, STROKES & STAINS:

NRG added into colors and strokes will appear brighter with less shading or streaking.

  UNDERGLAZE BUILD-UP:

When building up the underglaze on a wet or dry surface, sometimes the underglaze will pop off during the firing because the mixture is too thick.  To prevent this, add NRG into underglaze.

  HARD SPOTS:

NRG added into glaze will cause the glaze to adhere to the hard spot area and will have a better coverage.

      CLAY AND SLIP:

NRG will thicken all brands of slip and clay bodies, enabling the ceramist to attach, mend and create surface decorations.  This process can be performed on greenware, bisque and finished glazed pieces.
