Pint of SW-189 Cenote
Cone 6 oxidation: Cenote is a semi-opaque, sky blue gloss glaze that has a variety of brown crystals that melt during firing.
Cone 10 reduction: Base color darkens. Crystals become darker and more defined.
TIP: SW-166 Norse Blue is the base glaze. For a lighter crystal effect, you may try applying two coats of SW-166 Norse Blue with a third coat of SW-189 Cenote.
Mayco’s Stoneware glazes provide consistent performance and intriguing visual interest. Many glazes will break over textures, revealing secondary colors and shades. They often layer well with other Mayco Stoneware glazes, including their Light and Dark Flux. The choice of clay body, thickness of glaze application, firing process and temperature will affect the fired results.
