Clay Planet Midfire Base Glaze
Dry Mid-Fire Base Glaze - Cone 5/6
Fires to cone 5 or cone 6. For dipping, pouring, or spraying. This dry base works extremely well as a base for mason stains and other colorants.
It can also be used as a mid-fire clear all on its own fired to cone 6, when slightly thinner.
We suggest additions of mason stain by weight, from 1-2% for a more transparent celadon look. Mix 5%-10% additions for a more opaque rich full color. Mix approximately 11 ounces of water per dry pound of glaze, and test thickness. Mix a bit thinner if using as a clear to avoid cloudiness.
Thin glaze for spray application. Add brushing medium if you wish to brush on glaze.
Always test your glazes on test tile with your clay body before use in mass production.
