Leslies Lava Glaze 606 Black Lava
Leslies Lava Glazes (Cone 06-05)
606 Black Lava
Originally developed to look like snow on the tips of ceramic Christmas tree branches, lava glaze works well when applied on top of a glaze where it puffs up, or when applied directly on bisque ware to simulate volcano lava. Today, artists use Leslie’s lava glaze for unique decorative surface treatment such as in raku firing where it develops into a beautiful textured surface. Applied thickly, it aggressively forms a cracked surface upon firing. It can also be stained with oxides or glaze stains to achieve various colors. Lava Glaze is not recommended for food containers. Fire to cone 06-05
Glazes are stocked by the pint.
*Gallons, Dry, and 5 gal buckets are available by special order 1-2 weeks lead time.
