PK Design - All Production Kiln (PK) models are designed for industrial use and incorporate the following upgraded components:

• Heavy Duty Wiring - Withstands high temperatures and rigorous use

Durability - Due to their enormous spans oval kilns have a history of cracking lids and slabs. Skutt solved this problem by introducing the first fiber lid oval kiln with a fiber insert in the base. The electrical components and wiring are industrial quality to minimize downtime and boost performance.

Ease - The light fiber lid coupled with our innovative lid brace design make opening and closing the kiln a one handed operation. The touchpad has been moved higher for easy access to programming. Like all Skutt kilns the new ovals are sectional making them easy to move, repair and disassemble for loading large pieces. The entire kiln can be assembled and disassembled in less then 10 minutes using only a screwdriver.

Other Upgrades include:

• Rolling kiln stand - Lets you maneuver your kiln away from a wall or other objects while firing. Constructed out of heavy duty, welded square tubing and fitted with high quality, locking polypropylene castors. Polypropylene wheels roll smoothly across the floor to avoid damaging the kiln or any ware inside it.
• A set of platinum type-S thermocouples - Highly accurate and will last the life of the kiln. Will never shed dust on the kiln shelves or your pieces.
• APM elements - outperform and outlast standard elements when regularly firing to cone 6-10 temperatures. These elements are far less likely to collapse and degrade during firing.
