PROTECT YOUR KILN SHELVES WITH KILN DUST
Apply a layer of dust to kiln shelves to protect from gloop drips. Kiln Dust will protect shelves from damage from glaze as well as protecting your ceramics. Advancer kiln shelves/Kiln wash will NOT substitute for Kiln Dust. Reusable up to 5+ times or until the sand begins to melt and clump together.
Kiln Dust will leave a sandy texture on the bottom of the gloop that melted on the sand. You can get rid of this texture by using sand paper to smooth if necessary.
Directions
- Apply a layer of sand to the kiln shelf
- Brush or press flat
- Place ceramics on dust
- Fire to desired temperature
- Remove ceramics from dust
- Sand dust texture off ceramics if desired
- Reuse dust up to five times
