Skutt KM1627-3PKLF Production Kiln

The Skutt oval kilns are designed with 3 main objectives in mind: make it powerful enough to handle heavy loads, make it durable enough to withstand the rigorous demands of high volume production and make it easy to operate and maintain. This Low Fire Version of the Skutt oval kiln gives you all the volume when you do not have all the power. This kiln has a maximum firing temp of cone 1.

PK Design - All Production Kiln (PK) models are designed for industrial use and incorporate the following upgraded components:

Solid State Relays - Quiet and long lasting
Busbar Element Connectors - Easy to replace elements
Heavy Duty Wiring - Withstands high temperatures and rigorous use

Durability - Due to their enormous spans oval kilns have a history of cracking lids and slabs. Skutt solved this problem by introducing the first fiber lid oval kiln with a fiber insert in the base. The electrical components and wiring are industrial quality to minimize downtime and boost performance.

Ease - The light fiber lid coupled with our innovative lid brace design make opening and closing the kiln a one handed operation. The touchpad has been moved higher for easy access to programming. Like all Skutt kilns the new ovals are sectional making them easy to move, repair and disassemble for loading large pieces. The entire kiln can be assembled and disassembled in less then 10 minutes using only a screwdriver. Our new busbar element connection design makes changing elements a breeze.

Other Upgrades include:

Rolling kiln stand - Lets you maneuver your kiln away from a wall or other objects while firing. Constructed out of heavy duty, welded square tubing and fitted with high quality, locking polypropylene castors. Polypropylene wheels roll smoothly across the floor to avoid damaging the kiln or any ware inside it.
A set of platinum type-S thermocouples - Highly accurate and will last the life of the kiln. Will never shed dust on the kiln shelves or your pieces.
APM elements - outperform and outlast standard elements when regularly firing to cone 6-10 temperatures. These elements are far less likely to collapse and degrade during firing.
